Soft dog treats are popular because they are easy to chew, full of flavor, and perfect for puppies, adult dogs, and seniors alike. Soft treats are often freeze-dried or dried slowly over low heat – so they naturally contain a lot of flavor, as the flavor is preserved along with the moisture, which makes them smell good.

Soft dog treats for training – effective and motivating
During training, it is important to have a treat that will capture your dog's attention but won't take too long to eat. Soft training treats are juicy and full of flavor, making them a highly motivating reward. Many dog owners find that their dog responds faster and more engaged when using an aromatic treat rather than a very dry treat. Plus, you can easily pinch them into smaller pieces if you have a smaller dog or want to spread the rewards out over a longer training session.
Soft treats for puppies
We recommend starting with soft treats for very young puppies (8–12 weeks). It is important that the puppy can chew and safely swallow the treat, and that it is interesting when you reward and train. When the treats are soft, they can be easily broken into smaller pieces, but otherwise you should choose ones that are small and manageable for your dog.
Gentle on teeth
Puppies, older dogs, and dogs with crooked teeth find it easier to chew a soft treat. To tell when a treat is soft, it will often be freeze-dried or contain vegetable glycerin.
