Toys for medium and large dogs
This guide is for you if you have a medium or large dog 10 kg +
Toys for medium and large dogs should be durable and of a size that allows the dog to spend time and effort playing with them.
Many owners of large dogs (or dogs with strong jaws) often find that their dog destroys toys very quickly, which can be an annoying experience (and expense).
We always try to select toys that are, as a minimum, made of a durable material – but we can never guarantee that toys won’t break. After all, it’s better that it’s the toy that breaks and not your dog’s teeth or your new shoes.
Sturdy jute toys
Green&Wild’s toys are made with a focus on durability and are made from sturdy materials. It is double stitched over four layers of jute, filled with either cotton jute rope, waste cotton or a recycled plastic flake. The toys are therefore natural and recyclable.
Rope toys
The rope toy from Nordog is made of strong rope and is ideal as a throwing and pulling toy for medium and large dogs. Nordog is Danish made with a focus on sustainable production of products made from durable materials. The rope toy comes in 7 different colors.
Activity toys
Activity toys allow your dog to be more focused on the reward being used and therefore not immediately disassemble the toy itself. Regardless of size, activity toys are a great solution to stimulate and entertain dogs who don’t want to spend a long time on one toy at a time or who destroy toys quickly.
With activity toys, you can add extra stimuli by adding wet food, treats, etc. to make it fun for your dog to play with.
‘Edible’ toys
If the activity toy isn’t attractive enough, then an ‘edible’ toy may be right for your dog. By ‘edible’ toys, I mean chew bones that your dog doesn’t necessarily eat, but instead can take hours (and some days) to get through. It’s odorless and low in fat, so you don’t have to worry about your dog ingesting it.
