That's a really good question, and there's no single answer. Your dog can survive on most food, but it's the composition and quality that determine how well your dog thrives – and whether he's healthy and strong, both now and in the future.
Two things you should consider when choosing dog food:
Read the ingredient list
Turn the package over and read what the food contains. The ingredients should be clear and easy to understand – you should be able to see which animals the food is made from and exactly what parts have been used. Also remember that the ingredient listed first is the one that is most abundant in the food.
Assess the quality of the raw materials
Whether you choose dry food or BARF, quality is crucial. It can be difficult to assess, but it makes a huge difference to your dog's well-being.
The dry food we carry in the store comes from Canada and is made from high-quality ingredients from animals that have had good living conditions: free-range ducks, wild-caught fish, nest-laid eggs and grass-fed lamb. The suppliers are carefully selected, and the ingredients are fresh – and it shows in the quality.
We have carefully selected three different types of dog food that we consider to be complete food and a safe choice for your dog's health.
Dry food
Dry food is the most popular type of food for dogs – it's easy to handle, and the vast majority of dogs thrive on it. But as mentioned, it's super important that the dry food you choose is of high quality.
For example, protein can be extracted from many different sources, but there is a big difference between whether the protein in your dog food comes from chicken feet or a whole chicken. It is always best if a manufacturer uses the whole animal, as it provides more nutritious and absorbable ingredients.
The choice of dry food not only has an impact on what is on the ingredient list, but also on how your dog's body can absorb and utilize the nutrients. Quality makes all the difference

Mush (barf)
BARF are fresh meatballs that, when thawed, become raw minced meat – that is, unprocessed and not prepared in advance.
Carefully formulated as a complete food, MUSH BARF contains all the essential nutrients your dog needs daily. It is a natural choice for those who want to feed their dog a raw diet without compromising on nutritional balance.
MUSH BARF should be stored in the freezer and taken out in appropriate portions so that it is ready to serve when your dog needs to eat.

Satisfied (fresh dog food)
Fresh dog food is (in a way) the closest thing your dog will get to “human food.” The food is prepared using the sous vide method, making it gentle and easy for your dog to digest. You can think of it as a cross between dry food and BARF – natural, convenient, and ready to serve.
Fresh dog food should be stored in the refrigerator to maintain quality and freshness. It is an ideal choice for those who want to give their dog a more authentic eating experience without compromising on nutrition.

Stay away from dog food if:
-
The main ingredient is grain, potatoes or other starch
Your dog needs a diet that focuses on protein, not fillers like grains or starches that contribute minimally to its nutritional needs. -
It is not defined which parts of the animal the feed contains
If the manufacturer does not specify what the feed is made of, it is likely that it contains low-quality parts that are not worth mentioning. -
The description says "with flavor of"
Dog food shouldn't "taste like" anything – the taste should come from the right ingredients, i.e. the animals the food is made from, and not from added flavorings.
Always choose food with transparent ingredient lists and a composition that prioritizes your dog's health.
