Maintenance
It is recommended to brush a Weimaraner once a week to remove dead hairs and keep the skin healthy and well-aerated. Bathing should be done every 4–6 weeks using products gentle on sensitive skin.
Brushing
The Weimaraner has a short and smooth coat, which is easy to maintain. However, weekly brushing is important to preserve the coat's natural shine and remove dirt and loose hairs.
Clipping
A Weimaraner does not need clipping, as the coat naturally maintains itself.
Special attention
Pay extra attention to the dog's hanging ears, as they can collect moisture and dirt. Regular checking and cleaning are important to prevent irritation and infection. Also, keep an eye on the skin for signs of sensitivity or irritation.
Recommended grooming visits
A professional bath every 4–6 weeks is recommended to keep the coat clean and healthy. At the same time, nails, paw pads, and ears should be checked as part of ongoing care.
Brushes for Weimaraners
The Weimaraner has a short and dense coat that requires minimal maintenance.
It is recommended to use a soft brush to remove loose hair and stimulate blood circulation in the skin.
During shedding periods, it can be beneficial to increase the frequency of brushing to better control shedding and keep the coat healthy and well-groomed.
Shampoo and conditioner for Labrador Retriever
It is recommended to bathe a Weimaraner every 4–6 weeks with a mild shampoo suitable for sensitive skin.
It is important to thoroughly dry the coat after bathing to avoid chilling and skin problems.
Using conditioner is optional, but can be beneficial if you desire extra softness and moisture for the coat.

Weimaraner Clipping
Trimming a Weimaraner is not recommended, as the breed's short coat naturally renews itself and acts as protection against both cold and heat. If the coat is trimmed, it can disrupt its natural function and affect its ability to regulate temperature.
Instead, the focus should be on regular brushing and bathing, which helps remove loose hair and keep the coat healthy.
However, it may be beneficial to trim lightly in individual areas for comfort and hygiene, e.g.:
• Around the paws
• Around the ears
• At the tail

Nail clippers for Weimaraners
Weimaraners are medium-sized dogs with relatively strong nails, which require appropriately sized nail clippers to be trimmed safely and effectively.
Nail clippers for medium dogs provide good control and the necessary strength to trim nails in small, precise steps. This reduces the risk of hitting the quick and ensures a clean cut.
Choose nail clippers that are suitable for medium breeds, preferably with sharp blades and a good grip, to ensure maximum control and safety during trimming.
