Best puppy food
Puppy food must be correctly composed of good quality raw materials so that the puppy gets the nutrients it needs while it grows. Puppies grow very quickly and therefore have a high energy consumption, which must be covered by its food. A good puppy food therefore has a higher energy content and contains more fat and protein than food for adult dogs.
We sell dry and wet food for puppies from Essential Foods and barf for puppies from Mush. All selected and coordinated to ensure your puppy's optimal development.
Puppy food for large dog breeds
For puppies expected to weigh over 15kg as adults. Our large breed puppy food has a lower fat content than regular puppy food to support more controlled and gentle growth. Large breeds benefit from growing slowly to take care of their bones and joints during this important growth period.
ESSENTIAL THE BEGINNING LARGE BREED is specially formulated for large breed puppies and contains the right nutrients in the correct balance so that your puppy gets the best start in life – without growing too quickly.
Puppy food for small dog breeds
For puppies that will weigh up to approximately 15 kg as adults. The food for small breeds often has a slightly higher fat content to cover the higher energy needs.
If you choose 2.5 kg bags, the food pellets are also smaller, making them easier for small puppies to chew and eat.
ESSENTIAL THE BEGINNING is suitable for puppies of small and medium breeds and has an adapted size and composition that provides optimal support for both growth, digestion and development.
How much food should my puppy have?
The amount of dog food for each puppy varies with the environment, age and activity level. We recommend that you monitor your puppy's weight and adjust the portions as needed. Male puppies often grow faster than female puppies, and may therefore have a slightly higher energy requirement.
See the precise feeding instructions under each feed product.
How long should my puppy eat puppy food?
Puppies should be fed puppy food until they are 90% grown. This is especially important for large breed puppies, who grow for a longer period of time than other puppies. Small dog breeds should typically be fed puppy food until they are 8-10 months old. Medium dog breeds should typically be fed puppy food until they are 1 year old. Large dog breeds should typically be fed puppy food until they are 1.5-2 years old.
Barf for puppies
You can feed puppies with barf. As long as you make sure that the puppy gets enough food, you can feed with Barf. The barf puppy food from Mush contains 10% bone, which is important for the puppy to develop its bones correctly.
Our BARF puppy food comes in 2 flavors : Purple (pig, turkey, chicken) and Ice Blue (beef, reindeer, salmon).
