Maintenance
It is recommended to brush a Rottweiler 1–2 times a week to remove loose hair and keep the coat shiny. Baths are given as needed – typically every 4–8 weeks depending on activity level and dirt.
Brushing
A Rottweiler has a short, dense coat with an undercoat, which sheds – especially during shedding seasons. Regular brushing with a brush for short-haired breeds helps to remove loose hair and stimulate the skin's natural oils.
Trimming
A Rottweiler should not be clipped. The coat serves as natural protection against both cold and heat, and clipping can disrupt its ability to regulate temperature.
Special Attention
Pay extra attention to the elbows, as the skin here can easily become dry and crack. Also, keep an eye on any skin folds where dirt and bacteria can accumulate and lead to irritation.
Recommended Grooming Visits
A monthly bath is usually sufficient to help with shedding. Make sure to use a moisturizing shampoo that cares for both coat and skin.
Brushes for Rottweilers
A Rottweiler typically sheds twice a year.
Weekly brushing with a short-haired brush helps remove loose hair and reduce shedding.
De-shedding tools can be used to reduce the undercoat while preserving the coat's natural insulating properties.

Shampoo and Conditioner for Rottweilers
The dog's hygiene is maintained with a monthly bath, using products that nourish and moisturize the coat.
A conditioner after bathing helps to loosen and remove loose hair.

Rottweiler Trimming
Clipping a Rottweiler is not recommended, as the breed's short coat naturally renews itself and provides protection against both cold and heat. If the coat is clipped, it can disrupt its natural function and affect its ability to regulate temperature.
Instead, the focus should be on regular brushing and bathing, which helps to remove loose hair and keep the coat healthy.
However, it may be beneficial to lightly trim certain areas for comfort and hygiene, e.g.:
• Around the paws
• Around the ears
• At the tail

Nail Clippers for Rottweiler
Rottweilers are large and powerful dogs with strong nails that require nail clippers of an appropriate size to be trimmed safely and effectively.
Nail clippers for large dogs provide good control and the necessary strength to trim nails in small, precise steps. This reduces the risk of hitting the quick and ensures a clean cut.
Choose nail clippers suitable for large breeds, preferably with sharp blades and a good grip, to ensure maximum control and safety during trimming.
